I recently lent my face and voice to a very important cause.  The Jed Foundation launched the “It’s on my mind” campaign to encourage young adults to speak up about their emotional health. Stars like Brittany Snow, Hayley Hasselhoff, Drew Seeley, Lucas Grabeel Melissa Rivers and many others have also lent their support to this cause.

It is an important message because:

  • Over 25% of Americans ages 18 and older suffer from a diagnosable mental health problem in a given year.
  • Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among 15 to 24 year olds and the 2nd leading cause of death among college students.
  • An estimated 1,100 college students die by suicide every year.

The tragic consequences of unaddressed mental health problems, from isolation to addiction to suicide, are preventable.– it is important that we all know the warning signs so we can help ourselves and others.

Mental health problems are treatable and suicide is preventable.

Help the Jed Foundation win $250,000 from the Pepsi Refresh challenge to save and improve the lives of young people through the Jed Foundations “It’s on my mind” Campaign! Vote by clicking the box today  and every day for the next 30 days.
