Amy attends the 3rd Annual Thirst Project Gala

My friend Robert has been telling me about the Thirst Project for a while now.  I’ve taken an interest in the organization but with my loyalties to other charities like the ALS Association, ChildHelp and The Art of Elysium, I didn’t know how I could realistically make time for a new one.  Then I was lucky enough to receive an invitation to the 3rd Annual Thirst Gala.  It was that night that I figured out just how I could lend my support.  My party pal Meredith Adams and I were seated by our gorgeous friend Cassie Scerbo whom we first met at the Ian Somerhalder Influence Affair.  Also at our table, Ryan Lee from Super 8 and Geno Segers whom I had the pleasure of interviewing on MSN’s Last Night on TV.  Sitting there with all of those friendly familiar, yet famous faces felt like nothing less than a stroke of fate.  The show began with a dazzling opening number performed by local high school students, who are the very kids who started this global mission.  It soon became apparent this was not your average charity event.  It was interesting, engaging, and full of information.  Cassie, Ryan and I were so moved by the presentation we decided to band together and donate $1000 to building a well in Uganda!  We learned how simple, easy and affordable it was to get an entire village access to clean drinking water.  How could we NOT help?  Even though we are living in trying times, those of us living in a first world country are beyond blessed with the conveniences of modern life.  We have to take the time to think of those who don’t have the basic human rights we often take for granted.  To learn more about how YOU can help end the worlds water crisis, check out the Thirst Project

Amy and the American Cancer Society say “Chose YOU!”

Posted by | Amy Paffrath, Appearances, Celebrities, Give Back, Press | No Comments

I value fitness in my life.  It’s important to me to be strong and healthy.  That’s why I gladly participated in the American Cancer Society’s “Choose You” campaign.  The mission is simple.  Get up, get moving and choose play!  Working out doesn’t have to be a chore.  It can be FUN!  I met up with other active actresses Josie Loren, Jessica Stroup, Dot Marie Jones and Genevieve Farrell at the Santa Monica Promenade to show just how much fun physical activity can be.  We spent the day jumping rope, hula hoping and playing skip it.  I also tested out my cheer leading skills and it turns out, I’ve still got it!  We burned some serious calories and you can tell by the looks on our faces, we enjoyed every second of it!  Before we knew it, the day was nearly over.  Time really does fly when you’re having fun.

Amy at Ian Somerhalder’s Influence Affair

Posted by | Amy Paffrath, Appearances, Celebrities, Give Back, Press, Red Carpet | No Comments

I am never one to turn down a party.  Especially in the name of charity.  When I got the invite to Ian Somerhalder’s Influence Affair, I was intrigued.  I was unfamiliar with Ian’s dedication to changing consumerism and conserving our planet.  It turns out he isn’t just a guy putting his face on a campaign.  HE is running the show.  His efforts are not only admirable, they are inspiring.  It reminds me that there is always more we can do!  As if the cause wasn’t enough on its own, Ian threw a great party.  We spend the night dining and mingling under the stars in the backyard of a gorgeous Bel Air home.  It didn’t hurt that the lovely Meredith Adams served as my date.  She’s always a good time.  Read all about the event here.

Here’s an interview I did for the Red Carpet Report with the lovely JJ Snyder.

Amy competes in Reality Rally

Posted by | Amy Paffrath, Behind the scenes, Celebrities, Give Back, Press | No Comments

I’m an adventure junky. When I agreed to compete in the 2nd annual Reality Rally I knew I was going to give it my all. I just didn’t know how sore I would be the next day. It was an amazing day full of laughter, running, and rain.

We solved puzzles, did physical challenges like zip-lining, bull riding and karate, dressed up in Western gear and put on a play and ran all over Old Town Temecula over the 2 hours it took us to complete the challenge.

I’m happy to report my team (from Left), Corinna, Jordan Pious (Amazing Race) , Michele Noonan (Big Brother) came in 4th place! Pretty respectable out of 56 teams. The best part is that all of the money benefits Michelle’s Place, a cancer treatment center in Temecula, where the race was held. We had a blast and I’ll definitely be back next year…to clain. 1st place!!

After the main event, we got to celebrate at the beautiful Monte De Oro Winery.  My fiance’ and I, who came in 1st place in the race (grrr 😉 had a lovely evening dancing and drinking into the night!

Amy attends the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards

Posted by | Amy Paffrath, Appearances, Behind the scenes, Celebrities, Press, Red Carpet | One Comment

As Trophy Girl for the 5th Annual Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards, it was my honor to present awards to the finest in the entertainment business.  The honorees included stunt men, costume designers, prop masters and special effects editors.  Anyone who works in TV and Film knows how essential these jobs are.  It’s wonderful that Hamilton honors these well respected professionals who rarely get their moment to shine publicly.

Among the presenters were JJ Abrams, Jon Favreau, Michael Bay, Robert Pattinson, Harrison Ford, Jon Hamm and Antonio Banderas.  As you can see, I was truly in the presence of greatness.  Many of the names listed above don’t particularly enjoy going to red carpet events but they made it a point to be there to honor their talented crew members.

The night was hosted by the dashing Isaiah Mustafa, aka the Old Spice guy.  It was an evening of Hollywood royalty that I was thrilled to be a part of.
